Making memories through 13.1 miles of fall foliage, nature & history.

The Battlefield Half Marathon is a friendly course to first timers, of which we’ve welcomed 1,652 (and counting!) since 2012 when the race began.  Equally suited to advanced runners, the course is a fun race for all paces with signature entertainment, like the start line cannon shot and monuments, deer, and turkey along the way.

The paved course offers runners a city escape with its slightly rolling hills, vast fields and monuments providing scenic views of nature and history all at once.

Runners in both the half and full marathons will stay together the first 12 miles, then split as half marathons head back to the finish line.

“The Best Half Marathon in Georgia”

We are so honored to have been named the Runner’s Choice: Best Half Marathon in Georgia 2024 by RaceRaves.

Next Race: November 9, 2024

Course

Approximately 12 miles of the loop portion of the course winds through the 9,000-acre, historic Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park.

While traffic does cross through the park, it is light and there will be sentries posted at each turn to ensure races are prioritized and safe across roads.

This is certified course (USATF #GA19005MS) with clear markers at every mile and aid stations approximately every 1.5 miles.

Timing

Runners will receive both a gun time and chip or net time.

Overall winners will be based on gun time. Age group awards will be based on net time.

Results will be posted here after the race.

There is a generous 6 hour time limit for the half marathon welcoming runners and walkers alike.
