This was my first marathon!!! The entire race was well organized, plenty of aide stations and very nice people. I hope to run again there next year.

Amazing course! Especially for first timers. We ran the half marathon. Plenty of aid stations throughout the course, with water, Powerade, fruit and first aid at all of them. Great finish line! And first timers receive a framed certificate of their accomplishment at the finish! Just enough of a rolling course to keep you moving but not too hilly.

This was my fifth marathon and my favorite by far. The course is beautiful, the volunteers were fantastic, and there was just enough challenge without being overwhelming. It was well mapped out. My husband enjoyed running the half marathon and I was able to have someone push me pretty easily in a wheelchair. I had my dog on a leash and it was a very friendly, fun environment!

An amazingly well run, well organized event. They make it more than “just a race” with the civil war enactments. What other race is started by shooting off a canon. This is a must do for serious and novice runners and everyone in between.

The event is one that I look forward to each year with ties to honoring Veterans Day. The course is peaceful and is one that serves as a great first-time race for anyone. Plus - they have a cannon!
