Race shuttles, providing participants transportation to and from the race, will also been run from the following local hotels (learn more about local hotels):

Packet Pick-Up

Packets, including your race number and timing chip, can be picked up:

  • Friday November 7 from 4 pm to 9 pm (est) at the 6th Cavalry Museum (6 Barnhardt Circle), or
  • Saturday November 8 from 6:00 am to 7:00 am (est) at the start/finish location (6th Cavalry Museum)

Pasta Dinner

A terrific pre-race pasta dinner will provided Friday night from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at the 6th Cavalry Museum (6 Barnhardt Circle).

The cost is $10/person and the dinner is open to everyone. Reservation tickets are recommended but tickets will also be available at the door (while supplies last).

Race Day Registration

Participants who did not pre-register for the marathon or half marathon will be able to register on the day of the race at the start/finish location. Race day registration fees are as follows:

  • Marathon - $ 70
  • Half Marathon - $ 45

Race day registration will not be available for the Junior Marathon.

Shirts will be provided to race day registrants while supplies last.

Bag Check

Before the start of the race, participants may store a bag in the "bag check" area near the start/finish area. Participants should place their belongings in a plastic bag and clearly label the bag with their race number. Please do not check valuables.

Bags will be available for pickup after the race. Participants will need to show their race numbers to retrieve their bags. Bags that are not retrieved after the race will be thrown out or donated to charity.

Aid Stations on the Race Course

All aid stations will have water, sports drink, fruit and basic first aid. Stations are located at approximate 1.5 - 2 mile intervals on the course.

Transportation to the finish will be provided to any participant who can not complete the race. For medical assistance on the course, or transportation to the finish, ask the nearest race volunteer. Medical personnel will be stationed at the 6th Cavalry Museum.

Assisting Runners

As a safety precaution, bicycle riders are highly discouraged from accompanying runners on the course. Runners who are not registered in the event should not accompany a participant. Any assistance to a participant, other than that provided at designated aid stations, may lead to disqualification. Disqualified participants will be ineligible for awards.

Spectators

Best places for family and friends to watch the marathon and half marathon include Wilder Tower and the intersection of Brotherton and Alexander Bridge Roads. Spectator maps with directions and approximate times to see runners will be available at registration and packet pick up. Spectators should avoid the race course for the safety of the participants.

The best place to watch the Junior Marathon is at Barnhardt Circle.

Post Race Food

Food and beverage will be available for all participants at the end of their race. We believe you will find this to be one of the best post race meals you have had (unless you were here late year).

Awards Ceremonies

Awards ceremonies will be held by the 6th Cavalry Museum at 11:00 am (for the half marathon) and 1:00 pm (for the marathon).

Race Pictures

During the race, professional photos of participants will be taken. These photos will be available for purchase following the event. More information will be posted shortly.
