The Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon has been run for over 30 years through the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park in Northwest Georgia. The park honors one of the Civil War's most important battles.

Marathon Course

This year's event features a slightly revised marathon race course. The race will still feature two loops in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, but the start/finish area has moved to the 6th Cavalry museum located near the park's visitor's center.

The mostly paved course is challenging but not extraordinarily difficult. Numerous runners have qualified for the Boston Marathon on this course. Results will be provided to the Boston Athletic Assoc.

Approximately 23 miles of the double loop portion of the course winds through the historic military park. Traffic is usually light in the park. Sentries will be posted at each major turn and all turns will be marked. Each mile and the half marathon point will be marked.

Details about the course, including a map, elevation chart, and certification number, will be posted shortly.

Half Marathon Course

This is the first year the Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon will include a half marathon option.

The half marathon, which starts and finishes at the 6th Cavalry museum located near the park's visitor's center, will feature a single loop in the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park.

The mostly paved course is challenging but not extraordinarily difficult. Approximately 12 miles of the loop portion of the course winds through the historic military park. Traffic is usually light in the park. Sentries will be posted at each major turn and all turns will be marked. Each mile of the course point will be marked.

Details about the course, including a map, elevation chart, and certification number, will be posted shortly.
